New Chairman Of BPCL: Latest Current Affairs Today
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has appointed Arun Kumar Singh as its new Chairman and Managing Director (BPCL). Since D Rajkumar‘s retirement in August of last year, the role has been vacant. Arun Kumar Singh was appointed chairman by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB). K Padmakar, Director of Human Resources, also serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. BPCL’s activities will be overseen by the Indian Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. BPCL is headquartered in Mumbai, India. Renowned Sculptor Passed Away: Today Current Affairs
Raghunath Mohapatra, a Rajya Sabha MP, and sculptor died in Odisha. On the death of Mohapatra, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and others expressed their condolences. Raghunath Mahapatra was born in the village of Shasanpadia in the state of Odisha’s Puri district. In 1975, he was awarded the Padma Shri, followed by the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2013. He established a training center in Bhubaneswar and trained many sculptors because he was interested in the art of sculpting stones. He has also shown his own sculptural creativity on a national and international scale. Mohapatra’s death was also mourned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Homen Borgohain Passes Away: Today Current Affairs
On the 12th of May 2021, Homen Bergohein (88) passed away due to corona. Homen was born in Dukuvakhana, Assam’s Laxmipur district, on December 7, 1932. In 1978, the Central Literary Academy awarded upon him the Assamese title of ‘Pita Putra.’ Homen worked as a journalist as well. Later, in 2001, he was elected President of the Assam Sahitya Sabha.
