VARUNA-2021: Important Gk Current Affairs
On April 25, 2021, the 19th edition of the Bilateral Naval Exercise “Varuna-2021” between India and France began. This three-day exercise is being done in the Arabian Sea. Both countries’ navies are working to develop their warfighting capabilities in order to promote maritime peace, security, and stability. Between the 5th and 7th of April, Indian and French, navies of the United States, Japan, and Australia, took part in the ‘La Perez’ exercise in the Bay of Bengal. Between the two countries, three military exercises are held: Exercise Varun (Navy), Exercise Garun (Air Force), and Exercise Shakti (Army). To reinforce their strategic relationship, India and France are conducting these joint exercises.
