Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Educational Qualification: The candidate must meet the following requirements in terms of education and computer proficiency as of January 1, 2023, in order to be considered for the position of stenographer.

(i) Intermediate (12th Passed) from a recognized Board/ University; and
(ii) Certificate of English Shorthand and English Typing from a recognized institution; and
(iii) Diploma/ Certificate of at least six month’s Course in Computer Application from a recognized institution; and
(iv) Minimum speed of 80 words per minute in English shorthand; and
(v) Minimum speed of 40 words per minute in English Typing.

Preferential Qualification: In the matter of direct recruitment to the establishment at the time of the interview, the candidate –

(i) who has served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years, or
(ii) who has obtained a ‘B’ certificate of the National Cadet Corps shall, other things being equal, be given preference.
