L & T, a construction and engineering firm, said it won a contract worth Rs 25,000 crore for the high-speed rail corridor project in Mumbai-Ahmedabad. The company said that through a collaboration it had secured the contract with the Japanese company. The first bullet train project for the country is 508.17 km from Mumbai-Ahmedabad. Besides, The projected cost of the project is Rs 1.1 lakh crore, of which 81 percent is funded by the International Cooperation Agency of Japan. Maharashtra is liable for 155.76 km of long bullet train corridor, and Gujarat for 348.04 km.
